Important Please Read!

                               Our Policies

Because the Hillside was designed to promote peace and well-being for both clients and service providers, it is necessary that we have guiding principles to insure that the expectations of both guests and providers are met. 


These are our collective policies.  We think they are straightfoward and refreshingly honest:
 

BILLING:

- all providers are self-employed and are payed directly as a result.

- when you purchase a gift certificate, each individual service is paid to the provider.
Therefore, if you pay via credit card your statement will reflect billing from your different service providers.

- Approved providers are:
      Hillside Salon and Day Spa 
     Julie Darlena Raspino - Massage Therapy
      Kim McLaurin - Nail Services
     Judy Graham - Nail Services
     Cindy Bedard - Cosmetology (all services)
     Rhonda Bopst - Cosmetology (all services)
     In Haymount Village - Massage Therapy/ 
                                                       Esthetics

- Although a valid credit card number is required to book an appointment, you may pay by a different method at the time of service.  

- Not all of our hair designers accept credit card payment.  Please check with your designer in advance.

APPOINTMENTS:

- All services require an appointment.

-To book an appointment you may:
a. Call your provider directly at their extension.
b. If you are new to the Hillside or if you have a 
    gift certificate, Call extension 10 or 11. You may need to 
    leave a message with your name, telephone number gift
    certificate number or appointment you wish to book.  Your call
    will be returned.
c. If you are not redeeming a gift certificate, you may 
   request an appointment by using our on-line 
   appointment request form.

- Most providers and all package requests require a credit card number or valid gift certificate number to book an appointment.

- Providers are generally booked 1 - 2 weeks in advance. During peak times of the year (i.e. Christmas/Channukah, Valentines and Mother's Day) providers may be booked as much as a month in advance.

- Saturdays book up quickly. At times as much as a month and a half in advance.

-Regretably, same day appointments are not available with most providers.

- Requests to book gift certicates can be handled most efficiently by calling 910.485.1300 ex.11 or by sending an e-mail to h.salonandspa@yahoo.com.  Please include your name and gift certifcate number with any message.
* Please do not use the online appointment request form for booking gift certificates. This may result in cancellation of your booked appointment and the need to re-book with the appropriate providers.

- It may take up to 24 hours to confirm an appointment request.


CANCELLATIONS:

- ALL CANCELLATIONS MUST BE MADE 24 HOURS PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME.

- WITHOUT 24 HOURS NOTICE OF CANCELLATION YOU WILL INCUR A CHARGE EQUAL TO THAT OF THE SERVICE(S) BOOKED. YOUR CREDIT CARD WILL BE BILLED.  IF YOU USED A GIFT CERTIFICATE TO BOOK THE APPOINTMENT, IT WILL BE REDEEMED AND VOIDED AT THE TIME OF THE MISSED SERVICE(S).  

We ask that you please understand that by asking the providers to not bill you for an appointment that you miss or cancel at the last minute is like asking them to work for free.  Your providers have booked your service time just for you.  They are unable to fill missed appointments or rearrange schedules with less than 24 hours notice.    

Exception- inclimate weather.  If Cumberland County Schools are closed due to inclimate weather at the time of your appointment, the 24 hours notice requirement is waived.


GIFT CERTIFICATES

- All gift certificates expire one year from the date of issue unless otherwise indicated on the face of the certificate.

- Providers are not responsible for expired certificates.  Appointments are subject to availability. Please book early to avoid expiration of certificate.

- Substitution of services is not allowed

- All gift certificates are non-refundable and are not redeemable for cash.

- Providers are not responsible for lost or stolen gift certificates.  Providers will do everything possible to help verify gift certificates in such instances.

- Online gift certificates are valid after payment is processed.

- Without proper cancellation, gift certificates are redeemed and voided at the time of missed service(s) (Please see our CANCELLATION section).


LATE ARRIVALS:

- Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment in order to take care of any necessary paperwork and to give your adequate time to get settled into your treatment room.

- There will be no extension of service time for late arrivals and full payment is required.


CHILDREN:

- Please refrain from bringing children.

- Children receiving salon services must be old enough and well behaved enough to sit quietly in designated waiting areas.

- No children are to be in the salon rooms or treatment areas unless they are receiving a service

-Children may not sit on floors, steps or in any other areas other than designated waiting areas while they are waiting for their service

-We do not provide areas for children to recreate or do their homework.  Please do not bring in backpacks or electronic toys.

- It is not appropriate for parents to bring children while they (the parents) are receiving salon services.  Since children are not allowed in the salon treatment areas there is simply no way for a parent to supervise them.
  
-Guests in violation of these policies will be asked to leave.  Please understand it is not our intent to cause hardship or anger, it is simply a matter of comfort and courtesy to others who are paying for salon/spa services.

-Minors(under the age of 18) receiving facials, massage therapy services or body treatments must have the signed consent of a parent or guardina before receiving services.  Parents or guardians must remain on the premises while minors are receiving massage therapy services.


WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US:

All of the service providers at the Hillside are honored to be serving their clients.  We will treat you with the courtesy and respect that you deserve.  Beyond that you will be treated with genuine care and concern.

We will strive for 100% satisfaction with our service.  If we could be doing something better in the treatment room please let us know.

In the unlikely event that a provider must cancel or change your service, you will be given 24 hours notice.  If your provider required you to use a credit card or gift certificate number to book your service, and 24 hours notice of cancellation was not given by the provider, the service that was cancelled will be free when it is scheduled. In the case of pre-paid  (gift certificate) services you will receive a service (1 additional service) of equal or lesser value from that provider in addition to the service that was cancelled.
This policy only applies to the individual service  that was cancelled.  Free service is provided by the provider that cancelled and will not be honored by any other provider.This policy only applies if a gift certifcate number or credit card number was used to hold the appointment.  This policy does not apply if provider cancellation is due to inclimate weather, natural or man-made disasters, loss of power or water to facility, damage to facility, access to facility  is cut off and can not be obtained  by reasonable means. This policy does not apply to individual hair salon appointments.
